UGC NET, also known as the National Eligibility Test, or NTA UGC NET assesses an individual's eligibility for the position of associate professor or junior research fellowship (JRF) in all Indian colleges and universities. The NET exam was first offered in 1989. The exam is widely regarded as one of the most difficult to pass, with a winning percentage of only 6%. According to the National Testing Agency's (NTA) statistics, 9,42,419 individuals applied for the NET exam in June of this year, and only 55,701 passed it across 101 different courses. Candidates who intend to take the exam must have a master's degree with a minimum of 55 percent (general category) and 50 percent (others). The examination papers will be divided into two halves, with each section including 150 questions. The exam time restriction is three hours. The minimum cut-off mark after combining both papers is 40% for the general category and 35% for the OBC-NCL, SC, ST, PwD, and Transgender categories.
